Dove Fields - Uttoxetter
April 2002 to November 2002
The project involved the remediation of a former Shell Fuel Depot in
Uttoxetter. Dunton Contracting designed a scheme which involved the
identification of the contamination plumes and the excavation and
treatment on site via bioremediation to render the soil suitable for
reuse on site as general fill. Exisiting contamination levels of up to
10,000 mg/kg for TPH was found on site and approximately 12,000 m3 of
soil was successfully treated to a target level of below 1000mg/kg for
TPH. The works were approved and accepted by the Environment agency and
independantly warrantied. The result was a successful alternative
method to remediation which had significant financial savings for the
Client.
